The Crime Victims Fund has aided millions, from the survivors and rescue workers of the 9/11 tragedy, down to the small boy who came through the doors of the Parent Child Center of Tulsa two years ago.
Under a Victims of Crime Act grant, a therapist at the center worked with the child and his foster parents, recalls Executive Director Desiree Doherty.
“We helped the child’s foster parents deal with behavioral problems. We provided court testimony. We worked with the child’s school to help him be successful in kindergarten.”
