Sometimes in a custody battle or divorce, the kid is left paying the toll of the parents problems. It can be a very rough adjustment for a child to all of the sudden have their reality cut in half and it is only makes it worse when the parents use the child as leverage. Parent’s, understandably during a divorce, are going to have communication issues. It should never be the child’s job to serve as the middleman, delivering messages and passing along passive aggression.
