Each year The Parent Child Center of Tulsa hosts Project Joy, our holiday assistance program. Our goal this year is to present the guardians of the 450 children we currently serve with a holiday stocking for each of those children. These stockings are filled with winter hats, gloves, socks, Chapstick, 8-pack box crayons, book and $20.00 gift card. For a parent who may have no other means to give his/her child any gifts for the holidays, these stockings are treasured.
Please consider this thank you from a PCCT client (in her own words) after receiving holiday stockings for her children in 2018.
“I would like to take a moment out to say thank you for teaching me the knowledge I need to be a better mother for my kids. Thank you for giving me the ability to know how a nurturing parent is supposed to be and to teach me about all the things I need to know to help my kids on their journey of life and help them know how to treat other people… I also appreciate the Christmas gifts that were given to my children. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t have been able to give my kids anything for Christmas and that brought a smile to their faces… It is people like you that makes a difference in someone else’s life by doing what you can to help those that need help.”
If you have questions and/or would like to donate this year, please contact Mary Thomas, PCCT’s Community Engagement Coordinator.
