For 13 years, the Champions of Health awards have recognized those who are making a difference. From the rural doctor working to address the health care needs of an isolated community, to nonprofit organizations implementing innovative programs to help families develop healthier lifestyles, the Champions of Health awards have honored those efforts to improve the health of Oklahomans
SEPT 28 2016 – – – Last night, 13 Oklahoma individuals and organizations were recognized as 2016 Champions of Health and were honored at an awards ceremony at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. Among those recognized was The Parent Child Center’s Executive Director, Desiree Doherty, as finalist in the category of Champion of Children’s Health for her leadership in facilitating the implementation of the Safe Babies Court Team pilot project in Tulsa County which has demonstrated dramatically improved outcomes in meeting the developmental needs of infants and toddlers in state custody in that jurisdiction.
